Just under an hour from Włocławek, one of the region's fastest-growing independent music festivals is preparing to welcome rock fans for another energetic summer weekend. ROCKOKOP returns to Skępe on 17 and 18 July, bringing together emerging artists, established Polish rock acts and a festival atmosphere that has become a highlight of the local cultural calendar.
Held on the Summer Stage in Wioska, next to the historic monastery in Skępe, the two-day event combines a nationwide competition for up-and-coming bands with headline concerts from two of Poland's best-known rock artists. Best of all, admission is completely free, making it an accessible weekend for music lovers of every generation.
A Festival Built on Passion for Live Music
Since its first edition in 2019, ROCKOKOP has grown from a community initiative into one of the most recognisable independent rock festivals in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region. Organised by local volunteers, the event was created to showcase new musical talent while allowing locals and visitors to enjoy high-quality live performances without the cost of festival tickets.
Each year, bands from across Poland compete for the festival's main prizes, with finalists selected from a large pool of applicants before taking to the stage in front of a live audience and professional jury. Previous editions have featured respected names from the Polish rock scene, including Illusion, TSA MNKWL, Materia and WaluśKraksaKryzys, helping establish ROCKOKOP as an important platform for emerging artists.

More Than a Music Festival
While the headline concerts attract large audiences, ROCKOKOP has become equally well known for championing new talent. Every edition gives emerging bands the chance to perform before enthusiastic crowds, industry professionals and fellow musicians in a welcoming festival environment.
The location also adds to the appeal. Set beside the monastery complex in Skępe and close to the town's recreational areas, the Summer Stage offers visitors the opportunity to combine live music with a relaxed summer day outdoors. Organisers have previously complemented the concerts with food vendors and family-friendly attractions, creating an event that appeals well beyond dedicated rock fans.
A Worthwhile Trip from Włocławek
For readers in Włocławek and the surrounding region, ROCKOKOP offers an easy summer excursion without the need to travel to one of Poland's larger commercial festivals. The combination of free admission, a varied line-up and headline performances from established artists makes it one of the standout music events taking place locally this July.
Whether you're discovering tomorrow's rock talent or heading to Skępe to see Closterkeller or Organek live, the festival promises two days of powerful performances and an atmosphere that celebrates Poland's vibrant rock scene.
